Custom Illuminated Channel Letters
When the Virginia Beach Amphitheatre began its rebranding process to become the Farm Bureau Live @ Virginia Beach, a striking new image was necessary to make a lasting impression for the amphitheatre’s first name change.
Familiar with Creative’s capabilities as a design-build architectural signage fabricator, Knox Sports, a Tampa-based sports marketing firm, contacted Creative about managing the turnkey project in Virginia. Farm Bureau needed a custom sign design for their new sponsorship opportunity in renaming the amphitheatre.
Creative’s project management team surveyed the site area, recording accurate measurements and snapping photographs for designers back in the Tampa office. The Creative Team presented possible ideas for a high-impact presentation back in Virginia while interviewing Virginia-licensed installation partners who understood the scope of work and possessed the necessary equipment for a flawless installation.
Creative Sign Designs removed the existing neon channel letters, surveyed the existing power connections, and measured the existing radius to retro-fit the existing structure with LED-illuminated channel letters. On a custom-built raceway, the new LED-illuminated channel letters were now an exact match to the arch of the pylon supports. To meet Farm Bureau’s request for a standout destination for patron photos, Creative custom-designed a routed, textured, and painted 20-foot-long 3D landmark guitar statuette.
After completing the park’s entryways, Farm Bureau Live needed a stage presence—literally. Two custom-fabricated 20-foot-tall guitars displaying the Farm Bureau logo were positioned on the grandstand canopies of the amphitheatre. The landmark guitars are visible throughout the entire park – day or night.
Farm Bureau Live @ Virginia Beach was completely fabricated, textured, and painted at Creative’s National Headquarters in Tampa and direct-shipped to Virginia Beach in several pieces. Custom-fabricated and installed in Virginia, and managed entirely from Tampa, this project was both fun and challenging.
