Creative Sign Designs Named Small Business of the Year

Tampa, Fla. (September 2011) – The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce announced the 2011 Small Business of the Year Awards at the 31st annual dinner and ceremony at the Tampa Convention Center.  Creative Sign Designs was named Small Business of the Year in the 51-250 Employees category.

A 2-minute video showcasing each small company was shown at the annual event, where more than 850 attendees celebrated the accomplishments of Tampa’s small business community.  Nominated companies participated in three judging rounds over a 4-month period and were evaluated on ethical business practices, community involvement, and financial success. 

Creative Sign Designs was founded in 1986 and over the past 25 years has become a nationally recognized leader in custom interior and exterior signage for both residential and commercial markets. In previous years, the business focused on residential and street signage and mailboxes for new home developments. However, over the past few years, Creative Sign Designs has evolved, adding an industry-leading architectural sign business serving hotels, health care organizations, apartment communities, college campuses, national retailers and many others.

The Chamber annually recognizes businesses with fewer than 250 employees with their Small Business of the Year (SBOY) Awards.  The SBOY Awards celebrate small companies in the bay area for their outstanding business achievements. 

Other award winners included Italiano Insurance (21-50 Employees) and Majesty Title Services, LLC (5-20 Employees).  Olin Mott of Olin Mott Tire Stores was recognized as the Outstanding Leader of the Year.

The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Winner will also be awarded the U.S. Chamber 2012 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award.  The Blue Ribbon Small Business award honors companies committed to their employees, sound business practices, and bettering their communities.
